North West Karate Players Shine at Indo Pacific Karate Cup

Thirty-nine North West Karate players performed admirably at the Indo Pacific Karate Cup tournament in Mauritius on September 12, 2023.

The competitors went home with 12 well-deserved medals, a monument to their steadfast dedication and exceptional performance.

Gold Medalists:

• Marizelle Van Niekerk - 1st position in Kata category (Vryburg Karate Centre)
• Michael Kahl - 1st position in Kumite category (Zanshin Dojo in Hartbeespoort)

Silver Medalists:

• Joshua De Kock - 2nd position in Kata category (Zanshin Dojo in Hartbeespoort)
• Gofaone Mothusi - 2nd position in Kata category and 3rd position in Kumite category (Vryburg Karate Centre)
• Resego Phiritshwane - 2nd position in Kata category (Vryburg Karate Centre)

Bronze Medalists:

• Benjamin Steyn - 3rd position in Kata category (Vryburg Karate Centre)
• James Van Niekerk - 3rd position in Kata category (Vryburg Karate Centre)
