Malebogo Modise Joins Chippa United on Loan from Mamelodi Sundowns

Malebogo Modise recently joined Qheberha's side, Chippa United on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mahikeng's own Bale spent last season with All Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. He has now joined The Chilli Boys from The Brazilians till the end of the 2023/24 season. 

On the dialogue that follows, we learn more about his journey.

Bale thanks for chatting to us. Please tell us about yourself?

Hello, thank you for having me. My name is Gadinkame Malebogo Modise. I was born and raised in Mafikeng in the North West Province. I am 24 years old and I’m a soccer player for Mamelodi Sundowns but currently out on a season loan to Chippa United fc.

Your love for sports, when did you start playing? Was it your dream to become a professional player? 

My love for football started at a very young age, playing with my friends on the streets. We used to play two pole on the streets. I used to travel with older guys to the ground with a team called Dibankhase in Unit 14, I was young but I loved football, so they were older so I used to go with them and watch them play. Later on I played for Bojosinyane fc. I moved to Lokaleng village and I joined a team called Junior Home Owners and it played in the MALFA League, coached by Isaac Seitlhamo. That’s when my love for football grew. 

The move to Mamelodi Sundowns: Tell us about that day. How was the feeling.?

My parents received a call from a coach who coached a team called Carter Real Kings in Magogoe by the name of Mr. Jabane, that he is taking players to Mamelodi Sundowns for trials in 2012 and he would like to take me with. So I went through trials and that’s how I joined Mamelodi Sundowns in 2013. It was one of the biggest highlights of my life so I was really excited to join one of the biggest teams in Africa.

Many Boys out there who want to play professional football what advice can you give them especially those who want to give up o their dream of playing.

What I can say to the boys out there who dreams of making it in pro football is that they must never stop working hard, they must never lose their discipline because I think it’s very important and they should never give up, you will never know who is watching.

You completed a loan move to Chippa United now. What can we expect from you in the field of play?

Yes, I joined Chippa United. I will always push myself everyday and if I’m given any opportunity I will grab it with both hands because I want to go back to my mother club and play so I will try by all means to help my team to win by creating goal scoring opportunities and even score if I have to. 

And which team do you wish to play for in Europe? 

Liverpool😍
